These are the top 5 things I think you need to implement into your business right away!
The first thing we have to do is shift our mind-sets. For things to change in our business or life, it starts with our mind-set. There is nothing anyone can say, or teach you, if your mind-set is closed and not open to new ideas and new experiences. So, I’m going to recommend a book that I suggest that you all go out and you get. And that book is, “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. It’s a game changer!
How to change your mind-set:
This won’t be an overnight transformation, this will take time, but it is worth sticking with. Trust me.
I recommend that you download podcasts. Podcasts are amazing – they’re free pockets of knowledge that that can help you become more positive and start a shift in your mind-set. You can find podcasts on YouTube, Audible, PodBean, and Spotify, all are available to download onto your phone. Some people that I would recommend that you listen to are, obviously myself (Craig Wilkinson), Eric Thomas, Jim Rohn, Tony Robbins, Jack Camfield, Ryan Dice, Rob Moore, Richard McCann, Zig Ziggler. Play these through headphones, through your car radio, just take some time to dedicate yourself to listening to motivational and educational content.
Complete a journal. Buy yourself a notebook and each morning, wake up 10 mins earlier to make some time to write down 10 things that you are grateful for, try and make them different each day, but each morning, remind yourself that there are good things in your life.
Create a morning and evening routine. Once you have routine, the daily stressors of life will be dramatically reduced. Wake up the same time every day, go to bed the same time every day. Set your morning up the night before you go to bed so you’re not worrying about making lunch, or what you’re going to wear and wasting time being stressed in the morning, setting your day off in the wrong mind-set from the beginning. At the end of the day, write down 5 wins from your day, this will remind you of what you can be proud of.
Attend workshop seminars and motivational events. Always be open to learn new things and meet new people. Workshops and events are a great way to meet people and surround yourself with people who are either in the position you want to be in, or are just like you and wanting to be there.
Every business owner needs a business plan. If you’ve not got a business plan, simply sit yourself down in a quiet room and ask yourself, where do I want to be in 12 months’ time? Think about where you want to be, personally, and where you see your business in those 12 months. These goals will change over the 12 months.
Some things to help you…
How is your business performing, as a percentage? So, if you have all the money coming in, you have all the time you want, your systems are streamlined, everything is going well, the business might be performing at 80%. But if you’re behind, you have no time, money is tight and you’re struggling or pay people or pay bills on time, it might be running at 15%.
Having written down a percentage, identify where your business is not performing at the best. Write down how you can improve those areas over the next 12 months so that it will reach your 12-month vision.
Once you’ve got your business plan, we need a full-blown marketing strategy. Social media is the best way to get your business out there, at a cost-effective way as it is free to use. So, if you’re on it, or not using it, why not? Get out there, create a business page add friends and customers, join networking groups, introduce yourself. Get out there! Once you’re set up on social media, the question is how are we going to use social media to drive traffic back to your ultimate sales tool? Your ultimate sales tool is your website. So, drop people into an email marketing campaign.
We have to surround our self with contacts. So, if you’re not networking or attending networking events, guys, you’re missing out massively. Networking’s great for picking up new business, great for picking up new contacts, and also great for confidence. It’s just like social media, but personal, people get to meet you and get more idea of who you are. The more you get out there, the more confident you’ll get and the easier it will become. You will be surprised how much you get from it, and how much you will grow because of it.
Surround yourself with positive people that are there to help and support you. Get rid of all the doom and gloomers in your life and surround yourself with positive people. When you get up in the morning, I bet, like the majority of us the first thing you do is pick up your phone and scroll through social media accounts. Now, if there are negative people on your social media accounts, that is the first thing you are going to see and it will set a tone for the whole day. We need positivity as people, so delete them. Get rid of negative influences and negative people from your life. Research the Law of Attraction to get more of an idea about how changing your social surroundings to be more positive can affect your mind-set.
