What would it mean to your business if you could become more productive, more organised, and get your time back? Well, if we’re going to do this, we’re going to need something called a “Default Diary”. This is where we are going to put all our tasks and activities in that we do on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis, 12 months in advance.
How To Do It
Have a think about all the tasks that you do on a daily basis. This could be checking e-mails twice a day. What you do is you block that time out in your diary 12 months in advance. Then you look at all the activities you do on a weekly basis. This could be, “I have a team meeting on a Monday morning.” Brilliant. Block it out 12 months in advance. What do you do on a monthly basis? This could be, “I attend the Elite Business Academy event.” Brilliant. Block that date out one day in a month in your calendar. What do you do on a quarterly basis? This could be something as simple as, “I complete my VAT return.” Block it in. Then what you’ve got is you’ve got a diary that’s got all the most important tasks that you’ve got to undertake plotted in 12 months in advance.
This means when a customer or a client or somebody says, “Can you do this on this day?”, you’ve only got to look at the white space that you’ve got available in your diary. That way you can become more productive, you get more done, and you get your time back.
