Listen, you will be selling products and services to your customers and clients and some of them will be profitable, but there will be many parts of your business in which you’re selling stuff and it’s not profitable.
Let me give you an example. I’m a builder by trade and I do everything. Why? Because I could. One day I would be building an extension, then we’d be doing a basement conversion, then, we’d be doing a refurb, then plastering, then roofing, then fixing some old lady’s gutters. It wasn’t until one day I thought, I’m being a busy fool. I asked myself: ‘’Craig, what area of your business, what products or service, do you provide that makes you the most amount of money?”
Now, once I found that out, I realized that it was loft conversions that made me the most amount of profit, so I changed all my marketing around to become completely laser focused on attracting more loft conversion to my business. I knew every single day, when I stepped out on my porch to get in my van, and I’m going to work, I would be making the most amount of profit that I could.
This also helps in systemising your business. What I want you to think about is this. What are the products and services that aren’t making you the profit, and we need to replace those with the things that make you the most amount of money. So, get laser focused with that on your marketing.
