Lawyer / Will Writer
Few people like to think about the end of their life. It is not natural to want to. But it is essential.
You have to consider what would happen to your loved ones, your pets, and your possessions if you became either too ill to look after your own health and financial affairs or passed away.
Through my estate planning service (which is just the formal word for your money and possessions) we can create your Lasting Power of Attorney documents for Health and Wellbeing and for Finance. These documents appoint the people you choose to look after your best interests should you not be able to.
And we MUST talk will writing. I cannot tell you how difficult things can come for those left behind if you have not written a will.
If you live with your partner, rather than being married to them, they do not have an automatic right to anything. Even if you’ve lived together for decades and have children together, unless you have a will in place, they could lose the family home and all rights to any finances you may have. It’s really quite shocking.
Without a will, your estate will go into Probate and the government decides who gets what… and that may be far from what you would have wished for.
I will always explain things in simple straight forward terms – there really is little need for lawyer speak! I want my clients to feel comfortable and secure in everything we do.
I meet with my clients over Zoom so it doesn’t matter where they are based. But I can attend meetings in person in Sheffield, Chesterfield and the surrounding areas. And I don’t work 9-5. If an evening or on a weekend appointment is needed, that is absolutely ok with me.
Can’t recommend Leigh enough she helped & supported me to make sure everything was in place I needed to continue with my mums affairs after been taken into care! I contacted Leigh quite a few times for advice I always felt reassured by Leighs calm but professional approach! Huge thanks as this can be a stressful time but was made much easier by LeighT Worth - 23/07/2021
I contacted Leigh as Dad\'s now 90 and so we thought it was time we had Lasting Power of Attorney documents created, just in case they were ever needed.
Leigh explained everything to us in really simple terms, asking the questions we needed to consider very tactfully and giving examples of what our choices would mean in reality.
The documents were filed quickly with the OPG and everything was in order.
Leigh has also provided me with advice following the death of a close relative so that I could get the legalities in order and proceed with being executor to their estate.
I honestly cannot recommend Leigh highly enough. We all need our affairs in order, and Leigh is the lady to help us all do that.
Thank you Leigh.Claire Taylor - 21/06/2021
